Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. WOW so many negative reviews! I have had this shop rebuild 3 engines for me and Never had any issues. I had 2 chevy and 1 Honda rebuilt in the last 5 years. It has always taken 1 to 2 weeks to rebuild and none of the engines have had issues as of now. I will have my next chevy engine rebuilt some time this year and I'm hoping it will still be a great experience.

Had my block surfaced and it was horrible. Took it back and after two days Iβm told there machines is broke but they said my block is fine and use it like it is. Wrong. While picking up my block a worker told me my block was left out in the rain. I really donβt think they surfaced my block at all but charged me for it. Iβve asked for a refund and Iβm being ignored. I took my block to a different machine shop to have it surfaced and was told what I already knew, they said itβs a good thing I didnβt use it in the condition it was in. Posting pictures of how I got my block from c and e and you can judge its condition. Also posting pictures of how the other shop did which I was pleased with the work the other shop did but I ended up paying twice, once to have it done or not done at this shop and at the other shop. Donβt think itβs to much to ask for a refund

Donβt know why everything is so negative here but, I had a Honda B16 head resurfaced along with a valve job performed. Iβve had the engine together for awhile now and still have great compression. I paid a very fair price for the work and received the head back painted and refreshed wrapped up cleanly. Note: there were still some shavings left in the head however I feel you should always double check regardless of who did the work. I cleaned the head thoroughly before install Update: I revisited C&E Machine shop again to have my bottom end refreshed, the bore finish and deck was perfect when I picked up the block. Pricing is very fair no complaints once again..

I wish I could go lower than 1 star, this place will scam you. I waited a year and a half for a engine they rebuilt, that lasted less than a week. When I first got it was running fine and driving then the next day it started knocking. I found a huge metal nut that was left inside the head of the engine. After that it only got worse and then it finally stopped working. Victor is a scam artist, don't give him any money or any of your attention. He also lies about his "workers taking a vacation to another country" then he hires new workers that work less than the original. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND LET THEM GO OUT OF BUSINESS!

I called ahead of time to ask for a quote on rebuilding some cylinder heads they quoted me $150 for both heads. so after traveling 1 hour I show up to the shop just to find out that they want to charge me $200 for the job. I told the lady she quoted me for 150 over the phone she refused to acknowledge her quote she would not drop the price to $150 I walked out. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!
